Disablility Resource Center
The Utah Tech Disability Resource Center (DRC) is the designated department responsible for evaluating disability documentation, determining eligibility, and implementing reasonable accommodations for students who have disabilities that may affect their academic success.

Graduation Information
Visit Utah Tech’s graduation website to learn about your responsibilities in the graduation process.
Service members under chapter 31 and chapter 33 are eligible to have their graduation fees paid for. They must contact Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services before applying for graduation or they will not be eligible to have their graduation fees paid.

Military Housing Allowance Rates
Students receiving chapters 31 or 33 benefits may receive Military Housing Allowance (MHA). MHA rates depend on the zip code of the university. Students must take at least one credit in person for the entire time they want the university’s zip code rate. Students will receive half the national average MHA if no credits are taken in person.

Rate of Pursuit
The VA determines benefits based on a student’s Rate of Pursuit (ROP). See the current VA education rates below. Use the ROP Calculation Guide to determine your ROP.

Withdrawing from Classes
Whether due to deployment, a life Crisis, or poor performance in class, you need to know how withdrawing from classes will impact you. You may find situations or events beyond your control that cause you to withdraw from (or “drop”) a class or withdraw from a school entirely. The VA calls these mitigating circumstances. Click the link to learn about mitigating circumstances.
Let Utah Tech Veterans and Military Services know if any mitigating circumstances apply to you.

Veteran Student Lounge
The Veteran Student Lounge is located in the Browning Building, Room 116. It is provided as a courtesy to military-connected students and veterans students who may find it challenging to acclimate to college life and living among other students.
The lounge exists to promote belonging and feelings of community for student veterans and military-connected students. It allows for less structured engagement between peers as well as staff, which can increase retention and graduation outcomes for learners.
It is important to adhere to the Veteran Student Lounge rules and conduct in the link below.
Understanding Your Tuition Bill
Please see below for a description on how your tuition bill is affected by VA education benefits or FTA/STA benefits. Tuition bills are usually paid once students have had their classes certified and the last day to drop without receiving a "W" has passed. --Students are still accountable for paying their tuition bill regardless of whether benefits are received on time.
Tuition Bill Processes
Veteran Readiness and Employment - Chapter 31 VA Education Benefits Tuition Bill Process
Chapter 31 VR&E students must have a current purchase order (PO) on file that authorizes tuition and fees to be paid. Utah Tech cannot receive payment for tuition and fees if no PO exists. You must make sure a PO exists first before requesting Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services to certify your classes. Below is the expected process to have your tuition and fees paid by the VA:
1. Students receive a current PO for the time period they will be attending school.
2. Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services certifies student classes in their degree plan. The VA will not pay tuition and fees for any uncertifiable classes.
3. The last day to drop without receiving a “W” passes. This means student schedules are locked in for the amount of tuition and fees due to Utah Tech regardless of whether the student withdraws from class.
4. Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services pulls the student’s tuition and fee bill.
a. Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services deducts any scholarships or financial aid from the bill.
b. Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services identifies which portion of tuition and fees can be paid by the PO.
c. Utah Tech Veteran and Military Services reports the amount to Utah Tech Business Services.
d. Utah Tech reports which PO to use for parking if a PO exists to pay for it.
5. Utah Tech Business Services invoices (or bills) the PO.
6. The VA pays the bill within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
